About
Ji Sunkyung explores how intangible sensations take form in space where sensory cues meet structural order. Drawing on shifts in light and shadow, material surfaces, and traces of movement, she rearranges these elements through color, material, and geometric structures across painting, sculpture, and installation. She describes this approach as “Residual Abstraction,” examining how sensations that remain after something has disappeared can be perceived anew through the relationship between works and space.
지선경은 감각의 단서와 구조적 질서가 만나는 지점에서, 보이지 않는 감각이 형식과 공간으로 자리 잡는 방식을 탐구한다. 빛과 그림자의 이동, 사물의 표면, 지나간 움직임의 잔상을 색과 물질, 기하학적 구조로 재배열하며 회화, 조각, 설치로 확장한다. 그는 이 과정을 ‘잔여적 추상’이라 부르며, 사라진 이후 남은 감각이 작품과 공간의 관계 속에서 다시 감지되는 방식을 살핀다.
