About
Ji Sun-kyung approaches material and space as if drawing with them, investigating the point at which the inertia of perception and the criteria of judgment we believe we already know are formed and sustained.
Through subtle deviations in light, density, and rhythm, she places elements into relationships of attachment and arrangement, condensing within a suspended scene the residues of time, sensation, and knowledge.
Intuitively composed colors and forms generate structures and tensions operating beneath their surface, while works that traverse painting, relief, and installation set up environments that temporarily suspend the habitual flow of perception rather than represent the world.
지선경은 물질과 공간을 드로잉하듯 다루며, 우리가 이미 알고 있다고 믿는 지각의 관성과 판단의 기준이 형성되고 지속되는 지점을 탐색한다. 빛과 밀도, 리듬의 미세한 편차를 통해 요소들을 접합과 배열의 관계 속에 놓으며, 정지된 장면 안에 시간·감각·지식의 잔여를 응축한다. 직관적으로 구성된 색과 형태는 그 이면에서 작동하는 구조와 긴장을 이루고, 평면과 입체, 설치를 가로지르는 작업은 세계를 재현하기보다 인식의 흐름을 잠시 유보하는 환경을 설정한다.
